These Smith’s French Onion Dip were released by Smith’s in time for summer. According to Smith’s, the flavour was inspired by one of Australia’s favourite summer sides — French onion. The other flavour in the series is tomato salsa.
These chips are an ordinary pale yellow colour and smell like sour cream. Upon tasting, a rich, savoury and lightly sour flavour — sour cream and onion — came through initially, developing into a creamy tanginess with a hint of sweetness into the body before giving way to the more basic potato flavour in the finish. The overall flavour recalled a richer version of the staple sour cream and chives flavour.
This Smith’s French Onion Dip contained 150 g. It was produced in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2018.
