This is the YBC Chip Star Spice & Steak.

The chips were curved and oval, measuring approximately 5.5 cm in diameter and 1 mm in thickness, with a light yellow base dusted in orange, brown, and black seasoning. They had a faint, non-descript savoury aroma.

On tasting, the chips delivered a crisp texture, opening with a soy sauce-like savouriness that deepened into a beef-forward richness by mid-bite. The latter half introduced a subtle peppery warmth that complemented the beef notes before fading into a clean potato finish reminiscent of lightly seasoned steak.
Overall, an enjoyable snack that captured the “steak and spice” theme adequately, though a more pronounced beef profile would have strengthened its appeal.
This YBC Chip Star Spice & Steak contained 45 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2025.
