This is the Ivy Matsushima Zunda Cream Daifuku.

Each box contained a single, individually sealed tray with 9 pieces. Each daifuku measured approximately 3 cm in diameter and 2 cm in height, featuring an off-white mochi exterior encasing a layer of green-yellow zunda paste and a creamy white centre.

The mochi exterior was smooth, non-sticky, and soft, offering a tender texture that bit cleanly and easily into the zunda paste and cream filling. The zunda paste retained a subtle texture from the edamame, with tiny specks providing a firm bite that contrasted nicely with the otherwise soft components. The cream filling was almost imperceptible in texture but blended seamlessly with the zunda paste, creating a flavour reminiscent of the creaminess and subtle edamame notes of a zunda shake. However, the overall sweetness of the three components was slightly excessive for our preference, and we felt the balance would have improved with an unsweetened mochi exterior.
This Ivy Matsushima Zunda Cream Daifuku contained 9 servings. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Matsushima, Japan in 2024.
