This is the Morinaga Hi-chew Premium Kyohō.
The candy had an irregular, somewhat spherical shape, measuring about 1.5 cm in diameter, and having a light pastel purple hue. It featured an external coating containing kyohō grape juice powder around a taffy interior and emitted a sweet aroma reminiscent of purple grapes.
Upon biting into it, the compressed powdered coating slowly dissolved, releasing a sweet yet mellow kyohō flavour with minimal acidity. The taffy centre, however, carried the majority of the kyohō flavour, delivering an intense grape taste with bold fruity sweetness and balancing acidity. Together with the external coating, this created an increasingly juicy quality that extended the kyohō flavourr, peaking in the finish. Overall, the intense yet authentic fresh flavours and juicy textures made these candies highly satisfying. Their finessed depth of flavour surpassed the regular grape Hi-Chew, making them worth repurchasing.
