The jelly was an opaque brown hue, accompanied by a sweet and indulgent chocolate fragrance. With the first taste, the chocolate notes mirrored the aroma, offering a familiar yet subtly bitter undertone akin to a velvety chocolate mousse. This taste experience lingered admirably, leaving a lasting impression. However, the texture introduced an intriguing contrast: the smooth and resilient nature of the konjac appeared incongruous, given our customary association of chocolate with a lusciously creamy and dense mouthfeel. Notwithstanding this textural peculiarity, the jellies managed to shine through due to the profound depth and opulence of their chocolate flavour. In flavour, these jellies were fully deserving of their distinguished ‘premium’ label.
