Tarami Koi 0kcal Grape Jelly

This is the Tarami Koi 0kcal Grape Jelly. It used grape juice extract powder, concentrated grape juice, and a blend of artificial sweeteners to achieve its claim of being zero calories.

The jelly presented an opaque deep red-purple hue with aloe vera chunks dyed the same color by the fruit juice. It emitted a subtle grape aroma. Upon tasting, the jelly had a soft and smooth texture that dissolved on the palate, unveiling a one-dimensional grape flavor that lacked richness and depth. Despite the incorporation of grape extract and juice, the addition of artificial sweeteners and waxberry extract contributed to an artificial grape taste. The aloe pieces, too, were soft and failed to enhance the lacklustre grape flavor, and was disappointing in comparison to the delightful crunch of the aloe flesh found in Tarami Torokeru Ajiwai Shine Muscat Jelly. Overall, this jelly proved to be the poorest offering from Tarami that we’ve encountered.

This Tarami Koi 0kcal Grape Jelly contained 195g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2024.
