This Nippon Yell Gummy Yamagata Kōtoku Apple uses purée made from Kōtoku apples grown in the town of Asahi, Yamagata Prefecture. Kōtoku apples from Yamagata Prefecture are renowned for their vibrant fragrance, noticeable even before picking up the fruit. These apples are small, crisp, and very sweet, with a juicy, honey-like centre.

Each gummy was an opaque yellow, measuring about 2 cm in diameter and 1 cm in height. It had a vividly sweet apple aroma. On tasting, the firm, bouncy outer layer of the gummy gave way to a softer, jelly-like core. The initial apple flavour was subtle, gradually evolving into a juicy sweetness with aromatic, honey-like notes. This was balanced by a brisk acidity as subsequent chews, echoing the complex flavours of fresh apples. Unlike other variants in the gummy series, the soft jelly centre and the firmer exterior combined seamlessly to reflect the richness of Kōtoku apples. The luxurious sweetness and invigorating aroma made these gummies worth repurchasing.
This Nippon Yell Gummy Yamagata Kōtoku Apple contained 40 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2023.
