These were the Doritos Crunchy Nuts Flamin’ Hot Flavoured Peanuts.
These peanuts were the same hot pink-red colour as other “flamin’ hot” flavoured products and had a sweet nutty aroma. Upon tasting, the sugary sweetness — sugar was the third ingredient after peanuts and sunflower oil — dominated each bite even as a moderate heat from the “flamin’ hot” component kicked in with the savoury crunch of the peanuts. The sugar tempered the spiciness significantly, which remained less spicy than Kettle Chips Chilli. Overall, we were not fans of the overwhelming sweetness and found the bold, artificial colouring to be offputting visually.
