This is the Four Seas Chestnut. The chestnuts came pre-peeled and were moist to the touch, releasing a mellow aroma characteristic of roasted chestnuts with gentle sweetness.
On tasting, the smooth exterior gave way easily to the roasted centre, which retained some structural integrity while collapsing readily under bite. The texture was sufficiently moist, yielding a starchy consistency and the distinctive earthy sweetness associated with roasted chestnuts, forming a soft paste on the palate by the finish. Moisture levels varied slightly between pieces, with the more hydrated, lighter hued ones offering a more rounded and satisfying flavour. Overall, they made for a pleasant and comforting snack.
This Four Seas Chestnut contained 100 g. It was produced in China and received as a gift from acquaintances visiting The Philippines in 2025.
