Smith’s announced the return of Tasty Toobs in mid-2021 but after they flew off the shelves, it wasn’t until November that we managed to get our hands on a much coveted blue bag.
Each ‘toob’ was about 2.5 cm in diameter and 2 cm in height and dusted in a bright orange-red seasoning. Upon tasting, the ‘toobs’ had that tangy savoury tomato flavour that we knew well from our childhood. The tomato flavour wasn’t particularly complex, but it was exactly as described: a ‘tasty, saucy, bite-size snack’. The texture was rough in comparison to their Cheezel cousins and could do quite a number on our mouths after a few too many in a row but kept us form eating the whole bag in one sitting.
This Tasty Toobs contained 150 g. It was produced in Poland and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2021.
