This is the VC Kiwi Punched Lemon from Order Lemon (regular (fixed) size with 70% sweetness, no ice, lemon slices removed, and with added osmanthus jelly). This beverage did not contain tea in the traditional sense, but rather consisted of whole green kiwifruit smashed together with lemon slices to create a fruit-forward, non-caffeinated drink.
On tasting, it delivered a refreshingly tart blend of fresh kiwi and lemon. The green kiwifruit provided a mildly tropical edge, while the lemon contributed a sharp tang, resulting in a bright, vibrant flavour profile. As expected, the green variety of kiwi—less sweet than its golden counterpart—combined with the lemon to produce a particularly sour beverage. There were no artificial notes or syrupy textures; the flavour was clearly that of fresh fruit.
The addition of osmanthus jelly proved essential in balancing the sourness. While its mild sweetness offered much-needed relief, its texture was not dissimilar to the smashed kiwifruit, which had a puréed consistency. This textural overlap slightly blurred the contrast between fruit and jelly, but did not detract from the overall experience.
Next time, a higher sweetness level would be advisable to better balance the acidity. Nonetheless, the drink was enjoyable and well-made—worthy of a repeat order.
