This is the Wuyi Da Hong Pao with White Pomelo ($8.80, cold, half sugar, less ice) from Tea & Co. It featured a Wuyi Da Hong Pao oolong tea base flavoured with white pomelo.

The beverage had a translucent bright orange-yellow hue with white pomelo juice vesicles at the base and a slice of lemon floating at the top. On tasting, the highly oxidised notes of the oolong were immediately evident, swiftly followed by the tea’s signature orchid aroma. By mid-sip, the soft citrus notes of the white pomelo became apparent, both as a flavouring in the drink and as an interesting textural element as the juice vesicles burst, releasing varying sweetness and subtle acidity, enhanced by the slice of lemon. The oolong returned to prominence in the finish, leaving the tea’s characteristic sweet aftertaste lingering on the palate.

Overall, this beverage was refreshing and reminiscent of the Order Lemon Phoenix Aroma Punched Lemon Tea but with a less intense lemon or citrus flavour, making it easier to drink.
