This is the Osmanthus Oolong Fresh Fruit Tea with Passionfruit ($7.90, +$1.00 for golden pearls, no ice, 100% sugar) from Tea Republic. It featured an osmanthus oolong tea base, complemented by passionfruit pulp, and slices of watermelon, Granny Smith apple and orange.

The drink had a clear, orange-brown hue, with fruit slices atop and golden pearls and passionfruit pulp at the base. When enjoyed chilled, the delicate osmanthus notes were present but subtle, overshadowed by the toasty and earthy tones of the heavily oxidized oolong. The presence of passionfruit flavour was also weak, serving only as a source of tartness without its tropical qualities. To remedy this, a greater amount of passionfruit pulp and syrup would have enhanced the drink’s overall brightness. The golden pearls, however, added an enjoyable bouncy texture.

Overall, this osmanthus oolong featured a more robustly oxidized oolong than we prefer to pair with more delicate fruit flavors. It might have worked more successfully as the base for a milk tea.
