Ar-Yins Delicacies Cashew Boat Tarts

These are the Ar-Yins Delicacies Cashew Boat Tarts. The Filpino tarts consisted of a shortcrust base with a filling of caramel and cashew flour, and topped with chopped cashews.

Each box consisted of 20 tarts, each eclipse-shaped, about 8.5 x 4 x 1.2 cm in size.

The tarts gave off a sweet margarine aroma. Upon tasting, the tart’s crumbly, slightly soft biscuity texture immediately brought to mind the cheap jam-filled tartlets from the supermarket biscuit aisle, with a hint of margarine rather than the richness of butter. The caramel filling added a contrasting soft and gooey texture with a pleasant sweetness that, despite its generous amount, wasn’t overwhelming. The chopped cashews on top introduced a satisfying crunch and a buttery, nutty flavor that balanced the sweetness of the caramel and compensated for the pastry’s lack of richness. Overall, these simple treats were enjoyable but not outstanding enough to warrant eating more than a few.

These Ar-Yins Delicacies Cashew Boat Tarts contained 20 pieces. They were produced in The Philipines and received as a gift from acquaintances visiting The Philipines in 2024.
