Arnott’s Tim Tam Dark Choc Banoffee Flavour

Earlier in 2021, Arnott’s invited Australians to vote on two new Tim Tam flavours to determine which one they would actually make. This Arnott’s Tim Tam Dark Choc Banoffee Flavour was chosen over the more tantalising alternative of caramelised pineapple.

Each biscuit was 7 x 3 x 1.5 cm, with two malted biscuits sandwiched together with a banana-flavoured cream and gooey toffee centre and coated in dark chocolate.

The Tim Tams had a bright aroma of ripe bananas. Upon tasting, the banana flavour was almost artificial — which is always the case when the flavour of natural banana is concentrated — but mellowed in the body to a more natural, overripe banana flavour as the sweetness of the caramel emerged and its gooey and stretchy texture contrasted the softness of the banana cream and the crunch of the biscuits. In the finish, the bitterness of the dark chocolate cut through the caramel and surprisingly, cleansed the palate of the banana.

All in all, this flavour of Tim Tam was an enjoyable combination of flavours and, in particular, elegant use of dark chocolate in balancing the sweetness.

This Arnott’s Tim Tam Dark Choc Banoffee Flavour contained 175 g or 9 biscuits. It was produced in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2021.
