Daimonji Ame Honpois a small 100-year-old candymaker located in Kyōto Japan that is dedicated to using traditional handmade methods of candy making.
This is their Yuzu Ame, made using yuzu grown in Mizuo, Kyōto, a mountain village that is famous for its yuzu production.

The candy was about 2 cm in diameter and 1 cm in height without any aroma. Upon tasting, though, the flavour of yuzu was immediately evident, coming through with its uplifting floral citrus notes that were gently sweet before developing with balancing acidity. These drops were delightful as the flavour of yuzu was bright and refreshing, persisting through the entire drop, while the sweetness was mild. Flecks of yuzu provided a hint of texture but without sharpness, making for an enjoyable experience.
This Daimonji Ame Honpo Yuzu Ame contained 80 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2022.
