We’ve always known Dole as a brand that produces canned pineapple, so find this Dole Sharitto Fruit Gummy Grapefruit and Lychee in Japan surprised us.

Each gummy is around 2.5 cm in diameter and 1 cm in height, a pale yellow colour with a darker centre, and has a fragrant floral lychee aroma.

Upon tasting, the outer shell of the gummy has a semi-soft crisp texture that dissolves and crumbles in the mouth like musk sticks, while delivering a sweet lychee flavour with an enjoyable zesty hint of grapefruit that gave the overall impression of a lychee flavoured lemonade. The centre is smooth jelly with an enjoyable resistance on the teeth that contrasts with the shell and brought a more mellow sweetness and lychee flavour. The combination of lychee with grapefuit works surprisingly well here.
