This is the Ichiei Foods Okayama White Peach An Dorayaki. Okayama is famous for the whiteness of its white peaches, which is achieved by wrapping each peach individually to shield it from the sun until just before harvesting.

Each box contained 8 individually sealed dorayaki, about 5.5 cm in diameter and 2 cm at its thickest.

The dorayaki comprised two pancakes enclosing a core of white bean paste infused with white peach purée. It emitted a subtly fruity and sweet aroma. Upon tasting, the pancakes exhibited a slightly sticky outer layer, seemingly attributed to sugar syrup. Nonetheless, the texture was dry and dense, devoid of inherent moisture. Following a period of rehydration on the palate, coupled with the assistance of the peach-flavoured white bean paste at the centre, the texture transitioned into a more pleasurable cake-like consistency. The paste itself was smooth, while the peach flavour adeptly captured the inherent mellow and refined sweetness characteristic of white peaches. In summary, the peach flavour was satisfactory, but the discordant pancake texture marred the experience, rendering these not deserving of a repeat purchase.
