This Lindt Napolitains contained flavours of Lindt chocolates that we’re not able to find in Sydney that aren’t available outside of our airport.

The box contained assorted Napolitains in six flavours (top to bottom, right to left): Swiss Classic Surfin, Cresta White Crisp, Milk, Cresta Milk Crisp, Extra Milk and Extra Milk Hazelnut.

This is the Swiss Classic Surfin, the original dark chocolate created by Rodolphe Lindt in 1879 as the first ‘chocolat fondant’ in the world. This one contained 49% cacao and is crafted using the original recipe and the same package design created by Lindt himself.

The dark chocolate melts to a smooth and creamy mouthfeel with an enjoyable honey-like sweetness in the body that gave way to the dark cocoa notes before returning to linger in the aftertaste. We’ve not had anything quite like it before.

This is the Cresta White Crisp, a white chocolate with a crunchy nougat centre.

The crisp from the nougat dresses up the white chocolate, which we don’t gravitate towards, with a moreish nutty crunch to break up the creamy sweetness.

This is the Milk, one of the most widely available flavours of Lindt chocolate with its melt-in-the-mouth smooth and creamy chocolate flavour with the perfect balance of vanilla and sweetness.

This is the Cresta Milk Crisp, a milk chocolate with a crunchy nougat centre.

We enjoy this milk version even more than the white, with the gentle cocoa notes adding a layer of flavour.

This is the Extra Milk, which has a creamier texture compared to the standard milk chocolate. This one melts much quicker on the palate, with a more prominent dairy flavour. I enjoy the smooth mouthfeel and the hint of vanilla and honey sweetness but prefer the more restrained dairy flavour of the standard milk chocolate.

Finally, this Extra Milk Hazelnut adds a nutty crunch to the Extra Milk. We’re huge fans of hazelnuts in chocolate and this one is no exception with the nuttiness masking some of the dairy notes but retaining the rich creaminess of the chocolate base.

This Lindt Napolitains contained 500 g or 80 pieces. It was produced in Switzerland and received as a gift from a colleague in Sydney, Australia in 2019.
