This Mama Shrimp Creamy Tom Yum Flavour is a creamy version of the original that we enjoy immensely.

As with the original, each pack contained a fried noodle cake as well as powder soup in the red/silver sachet, chilli powder in the red sachet and chilli paste in the red/white sachet. The cream soup contained milk, chilli powder, fresh garlic, lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves, dried leek, shrimp powder, soy sauce and paprika amongst its ingredients.

The noodles are prepared using the same method as the original: covering the noodles and condiments in a bowl with 400 mL of boiling water for 3 minutes.

The noodles have the same fragrant aroma of kaffir lime and lemon grass with the broth taking on a more cloudy appearance than original. Upon tasting, the noodles have the same enjoyable bite of the original with a similar blend of sour and savoury with a gentle-moderate heat from the chilli. The creamy twist, though, gave the broth a rounder mouthfeel, tempering the acidity and spiciness even further. Honestly, we enjoy both the original and the creamy version, we’re having a tough time deciding which we prefer!
