This Mars Brownie was released in the mid-2017 as a twist on the original. It’s ‘limited edition’, but we managed to pick up in late-2018 that didn’t expire for another year.

The bar is described as ‘thick choc nougat (36%) with dark caramel (24%), covered in milk chocolate (40%)’.

This ‘2 pak’ contained two 7 x 2 x 1.5 cm bars.

This Mars bar did not deliver on the ‘brownie’ promise, alas, delivering none of the texture — chewy and dense with a good crumb — that makes a brownie unique. The chocolate in the nougat merely adds more chocolate elements to the existing chocolate coating and with the caramel being darker to make its presence known over the chocolate, the bar becomes an overly rich chocolate experience without the relief from the original nougat.

This Mars Brownie contained 70 g or 2 x 35 g pieces. It was produced in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2018.
