This is the Marusan x Pine Ame Soy Milk Drink, a collaboration with Pine’s long-standing candy product, Pine Ame. It contained 4% soybean solids and 1% pineapple juice.
The beverage had an opaque off-white hue and a sweet pineapple aroma. Consumed chilled, the pineapple flavour came through with a smooth, mellow sweetness. However, likely to remain faithful to the candy, the flavour lacked the refreshing touch of juicy acidity found Kikkoman’s pineapple flavoured soy milk, resulting in a more rounded but less vibrant profile. Despite this, the pineapple flavour effectively masked any greenness from the soybeans and left a clean aftertaste. While enjoyable, without any nostalgia tied to Pine Ame, this flavoured soy milk fell short of the liveliness offered by the Kikkoman version and is not one we would repurchase over that alternative.
This Marusan x Pine Ame Soy Milk Drink contained 200 mL. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Tōkyō, Japan in 2024.
