This is the Maumiga Black Sesame Rice Cake.

Each bag contained two spherical pieces, each measuring approximately 2.5 cm in diameter, with a deep black hue and a pronounced, nutty black sesame aroma.

On tasting, the surface offered a faintly rough initial texture from the sesame coating, followed by an immediate savoury nuttiness before the teeth sank into the mochi interior. The rice cake itself was notably tender, delivering a more rounded and cohesive black sesame flavour with only minimal sweetness. The texture was softer and more yielding than the tteok commonly found in Sydney, including those from Sirro Rice Cake Cafe. With two pieces per pack, their rich flavour and gentle chew made them particularly well suited as a snack.
This Maumiga Black Sesame Rice Cake contained 40 g. It was produced in South Korea and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2025.
