Crispy seems to be a prerequisite for most of my snacks lately. These Nabisco Oreo Thins Tiramisu, which came out recently in Australia, differ from ordinary Oreos by having thinner chocolate wafers (about 1.5-2mm thick) sandwiching a tiramisu flavoured creme filling.

The thinness of these Oreo Thins, though, means they’re not your classic twist and dunk kind. Rather, the cookies are wafer thin and extra crispy, which is the only thing needed to make the slightly salty chocolate cookie with the sweet cream filling of an ordinary Oreos even tastier. Indeed, I found myself reaching back for another and another! They must have accounted for this, though, as the box is divided into two bags, each filled with air to cushion their crispy cargo.

Texture aside, these Oreo Thins smell strongly of tiramisu. The tiramisu flavour was sweet and intense in the first few bites. Yet it’s perfect as the saltiness of the biscuit emerged and rounds out the initial sweetness with a more chocolatey finish. While I’m quite fond of the thinness of these biscuits, and might even prefer them, the vanilla creme of the original is my favourite.
