The Ohayo Kōridō Fuwari Strawberry is a kakigōri-inspired ice cream, flavoured with strawberry and condensed milk, and containing 6% strawberry juice. It aims to evoke the same deliciousness as a shaved ice speciality store, albeit in a more convenient form.

Each piece measured 8 × 2.5 × 2 cm and consisted of soft milk ice cream wrapped in strawberry ice cream. To evoke the taste of kakigōri with condensed milk from the first bite, the tip of the ice cream was filled with thick condensed milk, which retains its rich flavour and creamy texture even when frozen.

On tasting, the first bite offered a thick and rich creamy texture, accompanied by the sweet–sour notes of the strawberry ice cream, which was neither icy nor hard like a Streets Splice. From the second bite, the interior revealed finely crushed ice blended with milk ice cream to create a fluffy, soft texture. The milk ice cream itself was light and creamy, without being overtly dairy-forward or overly sweet, while the outer strawberry layer continued to provide contrast akin to the strawberry syrup found in shaved ice desserts.
Overall, this ice cream distinguished itself from traditional shaved ice bars with hard textures by offering a softer texture and a more refined flavour profile. However, despite the well-executed textures and nostalgic appeal, when compared to Ohayo’s Kajitsu line—which showcases fruit more directly—this product would be less likely to warrant a repeat purchase.
