This Orihiro Purunto Konnyaku Jelly Cherry is the second of three new flavours we picked up on our last trip to Japan.

The jelly came in a pink-red coloured pouch and contained 6% cherry juice, or which 30% is the Sato Nishiki variety that is known as the King of Cherries.

The jelly was a translucent off-white colour with the gently crisp sweet aroma of Japanese cherries. Upon tasting, the enjoyable bounce of konjac jelly delivered the same crisp sweetness of the glossy red Japanese cherries. The flavour was juicy with a hint of uplifting acidity which is in contrast to the deeper maroon colour and muddled flavour of Australian cherries that make most cherry-flavoured foods taste unappealing and medicinal.

This Orihiro Purunto Konnyaku Jelly Cherry contained 20 g x 6 pieces. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Nagasaki, Japan in 2019.
