This is the Osulloc Red Papaya Black Tea.

The tea bag was a blend of black tea (59%) with dried pieces of papaya (6%) and rose petals.

Steeping a single 1.8 g tea bag in 150 mL of water at 90ºC for 2 minutes resulted in a clear, radiant golden yellow infusion, accompanied by a delightful and sweet tropical fragrance. When served hot, the initial sips introduced prominent papaya notes, exhibiting a tropical sweetness intertwined with a faint undercurrent of acidity. This papaya flavour paved the way for the subsequent emergence of black tea’s brighter, malty notes, reaching their peak in the mid-palate. Following this, delicate rose undertones made their appearance, gently imparting a floral layer that spread across the taste buds before gradually waning in the finish. Here, the black tea lingered gracefully, accompanied by a discreet astringency. On the whole, the enchanting floral and tropical aroma of this tea rendered its preparation a truly gratifying experience. While the tea proved enjoyable, it’s worth noting that the papaya’s musky profile led us to slightly favour the Lupicia Grenada, a black tea also infused with papaya and guava.
This Osulloc Red Papaya Black Tea contained 5.4 g (1.8 g x 3 tea bags). It was produced in South Korea and purchased in Korea in 2023.
