These were the Red Rock Deli Grilled Limited Edition Yakitori Chicken and Shallot Potato Chips, which combine the sweet and salty flavour of grilled chicken skewers with soy and shallot.

The chips were dusted in a light brown, green speckled seasoning with the sweet-savoury of notes of teriyaki sauce and slightly sharp aroma of shallots. Upon tasting, the initial flavour was the same sweet-savoury caramelised notes of teriyaki sauce before rounding out with chicken notes in the body for the yakitori experience. A bold hint of ginger then emerged swiftly and persisted through to the finish with the slight sharpness of the shallots lingering in the aftertaste.

With the use of soy sauce, shallots and ginger, these chips successfully distinguish themselves from usual chicken flavours  that are dominated by garlic and onion powder. We enjoy them.
