This is the Sunity Big Q Grass Jelly Balls Original, featuring 12 boba balls made from konjac and grass jelly (7%), suspended in a grass jelly liquid.

Recommended as a topping for yoghurt granola, bubble tea drinks (as seen at Tiger Sugar Burwood), and soft serve, we opted to enjoy it on its own to fully appreciate its flavour.

Consumed chilled with the included plastic mini fork, the boba balls had a konjac-like bounce, offering a cleaner bite similar to white pearls rather than the chewiness of tapioca pearls. While the boba balls offered a mellow grass jelly flavour, the accompanying grass jelly liquid delivered a more distinct grass jelly flavour with a moderate herbal presence and balanced sweetness, reminiscent of canned grass jelly or herbal drinks like Wong Lo Kat Herbal Drink.

These grass jelly-infused boba were a flavourful and affordable novelty, and we would consider exploring other flavours in the range.
