This is the Sunity Big Q Grass Jelly Balls Jasmine, containing 12 konjac-based boba balls made with 7% grass jelly, suspended in a jasmine-flavoured grass jelly liquid. While marketed as a topping for yoghurt granola, bubble tea (notably used at Tiger Sugar Burwood), or soft serve, this tasting was conducted plain to evaluate its flavour profile independently.

Consumed chilled with the provided mini plastic fork, the boba balls had a soft konjac bounce more akin to white pearls than traditional tapioca, offering a cleaner but less satisfying bite. However, the flavour was distinctly unpleasant. The jasmine notes, while initially recognisable, quickly became chemical and stale when paired with the muted herbal undertone of the grass jelly. There was a persistent off-note reminiscent of rancid oil or damp cardboard that pervaded both the liquid and the boba themselves. The herbal aspect, rather than resembling the familiar aromatic depth of classic grass jelly, was similarly flat and cardboardy.

Unlike the original flavour—which were enjoyable as an accessible novelty—this jasmine variant suffered from weak flavour delivery and unpleasant chemical undertones. A markedly inferior product.
