It’s common knowledge that teas — especially tea bags — from supermarkets do not generally do a very good job of celebrating the flavour of their ingredients. I’d previously thought this was confined to leaf teas, but after discovering the clarity of flavour in the Lupicia Chamomile & Elderflower, there was no going back to the muddled notes of supermarket chamomile tea. So here is T2 Just Chamomile.

The infusion is 100% whole chamomile flowers.

Infusing 3 g of loose flowers in 200 mL of just-boiled water for 3 minutes, the infusion was a clear bright yellow colour with a fragrant aroma. Served hot, the chamomile notes came through with a mellow yet honey-like sweetness that developed in the body with gentle notes of apple, with the cumulative delicate chamomile flavour lingering long in the aftertaste. The loose flowers can be used up to three times, which subsequent infusions carrying a grassier flavour. Despite its honey-like sweetness, the infusion has a soothing and smooth mouthfeel that is absent in the muddled flavour of Twinings Chamomile Tea.

This T2 Just Chamomile contained 120 g. It was packed in Poland and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2021.
