This is the Tohato Harvest Fragrant Sesame, made using sesame in three forms — roasted sesame seeds, ground sesame, and sesame paste.

Each package contained eight individual sachets, each holding four circular biscuits. Each biscuit measured approximately 5.5 cm in diameter and 3 mm thick, made by layering several thin layers of dough. They had a light golden scalloped edge and a paler centre studded generously with sesame seeds. The aroma was gently sweet and nutty.

On tasting, a light sprinkling of salt on the surface delivered an initial savoury impression. The biscuit’s thin structure produced a crisp, delicate crunch, supported by a relatively open crumb that fractured cleanly before melting on the palate. Sweetness in the base dough was restrained, allowing the layered sesame components to take prominence. From mid-bite, the roasted seeds and sesame paste contributed a deeper, fragrant nuttiness, with the seeds adding a subtle secondary crunch.

The overall effect was light yet flavourful, with a well-judged balance between sweet and savoury. Its thinness and crisp texture made it particularly easy to eat in succession.
