This Whittaker’s Block Peanut Butter is milk chocolate with 33% cocoa content and filled with peanut butter.

The milk chocolate gave way with an enjoyable crispness that gave an initial contrast to the soft peanut butter centre, which is smooth and delivered a bright roasted peanut flavour. The milk chocolate adds an additional element of creamy smoothness as it melts, but contributes to the thick, cloying quality of the peanut butter, much like eating chocolate flavoured peanut butter out of the jar. Substituting for crunchy peanut butter would vastly improve the block by adding a persisting textural element throughout the bite.

This Whittaker’s Block Peanut Butter contained 250 g. It was produced in New Zealand and received as a gift from relatives visiting New Zealand in 2020.
