Woolworths Half Shell Scallop with Garlic Butter

With the scallops with butter from Hokkaidō giving us fond memories of sweet and plump scallops, we picked up these half shell scallops with garlic butter when we spotted them on sale at our local supermarket. They’re from Tasmania and thawed from frozen with a disc of garlic butter bitter than the scallop itself!

After steaming for 2-3 minutes, the butter melts into a golden puddle. The garlic butter adds just enough flavour without masking the sweet flesh of the scallops. They’re not even half as plump as the ones we had in Hokkaidō (and then again we were paying a fraction ($0.70) of the ¥540 (~$6.90) we paid for each scallop there), but we’re happy to eat many more of these.

This Woolworths Half Shell Scallop with Garlic Butter contained 1 scallop. It was produced in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2018.
