At around 1 PM they had already run out of pork. The shop was not busy and showed no indication of preparing additional trays, an odd oversight given the number of butchers nearby. The substitution—more cured pork sausage—left the roll markedly oversalted. The roll was soft with minimal crust, while the combination of pâté, sauce, and margarine produced a dense, gluggy texture within the bread that was immediately noticeable. The cucumber lacked crispness and added no freshness, while the generous amount of carrot was insufficiently pickled to counterbalance the heaviness and salt of the other elements.

Overall, the roll lacked balance and clarity of flavour, leading to a poor first experience and little motivation to return.
