Okiko Uchina Gumi Guminchu Okinawa Acerola

This is the Okiko Uchina Gumi Guminchu Okinawa Acerola. Acerola is among the numerous fruits cultivated in the tropical climate of Okinawa.

Each gummy appeared as a translucent red-orange hue, measuring about 1.5 x 1.5 x 1 cm, and emanated a more acidic aroma compared to Sato Nishiki cherries. Upon tasting, the gummies displayed a resilient texture reminiscent of Haribo Gold Bears, differing from the conventional gummy consistency found in Japan. The flavour of the acerola became pronounced after a few chews, commencing with a subtle sweetness that progressively evolved into a fresh and vibrant acidity in the body. This flavour resembled that of a sharper and tangier Sato Nishiki cherry, concluding with a slightly astringent finish. Overall, we found the robust texture and fruity flavour of these gummies from Okinawa quite delightful.

This Okiko Uchina Gumi Guminchu Okinawa Acerola contained 40 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Tōkyō, Japan in 2023.
