This Lupicia Kir Royal was available exclusively from their Lucua store in Ōsaka.

The tea was a blend of black tea with dried cassis (or blackcurrant), heather flowers and rosebuds.

Steeping 3 grams of looseleaf in 200 mL of water at 85°C for 3 minutes, the resulting infusion was a clear and light amber hue, complemented by a sweet blackcurrant fragrance. When served hot, the blackcurrant flavour unfolded with a gentle initial fruitiness, subsequently maturing into the distinctive, bright flavour reminiscent of black grapes, coupled with nuanced acidity emblematic of the fruit. The black tea foundation heightened the fruitiness of the blackcurrant through its inherent natural sweetness, and this interplay was further softened by the subtle floral notes of rose, contributing to the tea’s smooth and medium body.

This blackcurrant-infused black tea showcased an exceptionally refined and luxurious flavour profile. While evoking reminiscences of Twinings Blackcurrant Tea, this variant stands in stark contrast in terms of execution and sophistication.
