This is the Miao Le Chrysanthemum Honeysuckle Drink. It contained 0.5% honeysuckle extract, 0.1% chrysanthemum extract, and 0.1% licorice extract. The beverage had a transparent golden hue and a fragrant chrysanthemum aroma.
When consumed chilled, the intense honey-floral notes of the honeysuckle were immediately evident at the start of each sip. The unexpected intensity added depth to the drink’s sweetness. In the body, the slight buttery warmth of the chrysanthemum emerged, giving the honeyed notes an earthy quality. This earthy quality was complemented by a hint of the chrysanthemum’s usual refreshing menthol notes, which persisted into the finish, leaving a brief hint of bitterness without any astringency. The aftertaste was refreshing and subtly floral, without lingering sweetness. Overall, the honeysuckle added an enjoyable fragrant depth to the chrysanthemum, though we prefer the more subdued flavour of Yeo’s Chrysanthemum Tea.
This Miao Le Chrysanthemum Honeysuckle Drink contained 420 mL. It was produced in China and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2024.
