This is the Ito En x Nippon Yell Ōita Ripe Kabosu Soda. It contained 1% kabosu juice and kabosu extract, both sourced from Ōita Prefecture.

The beverage had a cloudy off-white hue with a bright, floral and zesty aroma and a moderate effervescence. Consumed chilled, vibrant notes of kabosu emerged from the head of each sip with the flavour of the kabosu situated at the midpoint between the tart acidty of a lemon and the zesty sharpness of a lime, with floral notes like a yuzu emerging as the sip spreads across the palate into the finish. This combination of citrussy flavours intensified with a sour tanginess into the finish, but overall with very restrained sweetness, before the bubbles of carbonation cleansed the palate for a clean aftertaste.

The combination of kabosu juice and extract delivered a refreshing and well-balanced citrus profile that highlighted the fruit’s unique character with elegance. A soda worth repurchasing.
