This is the Much Moore Premium Awesome Foursome Cravings. In 2004, it won the Silver Award for Best Ice Cream in New Zealand.
The awesome foursome cravings consist of the following flavours (clockwise from top right):
- Choc Cookies. This was a chocolate-flavoured ice cream with chocolate cookie pieces. Easily, this was our favourite flavour of the four. It was a rich chocolate with the cookies adding a textural element, but also gave a grittiness that was not present in the Connoisseur Cookies & Cream.
- Vanilla. This was smooth with a decent vanilla flavour but nothing special.
- Salted Caramel. This was a salted caramel-flavoured ice cream, which had a healthy savoury component that balanced the sweetness.
- Choc Chip Cookie Dough. This was a vanilla-flavoured ice cream base with cookie dough and choc chips. The cookie dough was chewy but the sugar in the dough added a gritty texture, while the choc chips did not melt on the tongue and contributed to a ‘cheap’ mouthfeel.
Overall, this ‘foursome’ was a good entry into trying the various flavours of the brand’s ice creams. That said, the airy mouthfeel of the ice cream was a far cry from the creamy richness of premium ice creams available in Australia.
