Rumour has it that the Coles Special Burger Sauce tastes just like the much loved and top secret McDonald’s Big Mac sauce. Not having tried it ourselves the Coles version ourselves, we can’t confirm whether that’s true, but we did try these Coles Special Burger Sauce Chips that are flavoured using the same sauce.

These chips are deli-style with a golden yellow colour and a savoury aroma with a hint of tanginess. Upon tasting, the chips start off with the same savoury flavour before a prominent acidity emerged in the body with a strong gherkin flavour followed by a gentle sweetness that very much recalled the McDonald’s Big Mac Sauce. Towards the end of the bite, the gherkin notes fade and the initial savoury flavour returns to complement the potato. These chips certainly deliver on their burger sauce promise with flair.
