This is the Asahi Mitsuya 100% Craft Fruits Grape Mix Lambrusco, a limited-release beverage available exclusively through Seven & i Group stores in Japan during October–November 2024. It contained 30% Lambrusco grape juice from Chile and 70% Muscat of Alexandria grape juice from Italy.
The beverage presented with an opaque deep purple-red hue. Aroma opened with a rich, musky red grape sweetness. Initial contact delivered immediate red wine grape notes with a deep, concentrated dark fruit profile, carrying blackberry, cherry, and plum associations. Through the mid-palate, the dark fruit richness developed a light astringency while the Muscat component emerged, lifting the profile with a fresher acidity and subtle aromatic brightness that softened the boldness. Towards the finish, the Muscat-driven acidity and slight effervescence became more apparent, carrying the profile into a lighter, more refreshing grape finish ahead of a clean, slightly dry close. Aftertaste held a mix of residual red fruit sweetness and faint dryness.
Overall, a full-bodied rich grape-forward beverage with a dense dark fruit opening and a progressively lifted Muscat-driven finish, resulting in a structured balance between richness and freshness.
This Asahi Mitsuya 100% Craft Fruits Grape Mix Lambrusca contained 500 mL. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Yamagata, Japan in 2024.
