This is the Nippon Yell Gummy Hyōgo Toyooka Grape,  made with juice from Pione grapes cultivated in Toyooka City, Hyōgo Prefecture. The product forms part of an initiative supporting biodiversity and the reintroduction of stocks to the wild, with reduced reliance on pesticides and chemical fertilisers.

Each gummy measured approximately 2 cm in diameter and 1 cm in height, with a soft pink-yellow opaque hue. The aroma was distinctively labrusca—musky, sweet, and recognisably grape-like. On tasting, the gummy offered a firm yet pleasantly elastic chew. The outer layer yielded cleanly to a jelly-like centre, which delivered a more concentrated sweetness and deeper grape flavour.

The flavour developed with each chew, beginning with the mellow, aromatic notes of the grape juice and building into a rich, rounded sweetness by the mid-palate. A mild acidity in the outer layer balanced this sweetness, resulting in a surprisingly complex grape profile with lingering finish. Compared to the wild grape variant, this expression was brighter, more defined, and markedly more enjoyable.

This Nippon Yell Gummy Hyōgo Toyooka Grape contained 40 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Tōkyō, Japan in 2024.
