This is the Nippon Yell Gummy Kagawa Kouryoku Kiwi, made with purée from Kagawa Prefecture-grown Kōryoku kiwi. Developed in Kagawa and registered in 1987, this original cultivar is recognised for its deep green flesh, vibrant hue, and refreshing, full-bodied flavour.

Each gummy was dome-shaped, approximately 2 cm in diameter and 1 cm in height, with an opaque green colour and a sweet-tart kiwifruit aroma.

On tasting, the sour crystals on the surface gave an immediate tang, followed by a firm, bouncy chew from the gummy’s outer layer, which then softened into a jelly-like core. The flavour opened with a distinct, vivid green kiwifruit character that remained consistent through the chew, before being met by a fragrant sweetness as the jelly melted on the palate. The lingering finish carried a touch of sourness from the surface crystals, echoing the sensation of fresh green kiwi. These gummies deliver both the brightness and depth of Kōryoku kiwi, making them a worthwhile purchase.
