I have a particular fondness for maple butter (I’m fond of spreading it on toast), so this Red Rock Deli Popcorn Maple Butter & Sea Salt tickled my fancy. It’s described as being ‘sweet, rich maple butter perfectly paired with a light touch of sea salt’.

The popcorn is dusted in an orange-red seasoning with a sweet aroma of maple syrup. Upon tasting, the popcorn is light and crisp with the same maple notes coming through at the beginning of the bite before prominent savoury and buttery notes of butter and sea salt take over in the body. The flavour tastes like butter flavoured with maple syrup, rather than maple butter itself which does not have a buttery flavour of itself. Overall, I’d prefer a sweeter maple syrup flavour to balance the saltiness.
