The sesame hulls contributed a noticeable bitterness, which, combined with excessive saltiness, made the balance less appealing. The acidity was also too sharp, not in a fresh and vibrant way but rather an artificial citric acid-heavy manner.

Overall, while the initial smokiness was enjoyable and made it suitable for dipping with crackers in moderation, it lacked the balance and chunkier texture of the Aldi Deli Originals Fresh Mediterranean Style Dip Eggplant, which had a more satisfying depth of flavour. Its excessive saltiness and acidity made it unlikely for a repeat purchase.
