Instead, there was no tomato taste or trace of acidity, only a one-dimensional sugary sweetness, likely due to the 77% sugar content. In both texture and taste, the dried tomatoes were similar to dried dates but with less complexity and without the paste-like consistency of dates, owing to the tomatoes’ hollowness. Overall, they tasted like cheap dried dates and were not worth repurchasing.
