This is the Lupicia Flying Dragon. It was released as a limited edition for Lunar New Year 2024, packaged in a 50g tin with a soaring gold dragon, symbolising the commencement of an auspicious year.

The tea was a Taiwanese oolong scented with bergamot and LaFrance pear.

Steeping 4 g in 200 mL of water at 85ºC for 2.5 minutes, the resulting infusion was a clear, golden-yellow hue that emitted a softly sweet fruity aroma. Sipped hot, subtle pear undertones at the forefront of each sip progressed with the bergamot’s vibrant presence, which reached its aromatic peak mid-sip. The Taiwanese oolong served as a reliable foundation, infusing each sip with a smooth body and minimal astringency, with its fresh floral essence complementing the pear notes and balancing the citrusy bergamot.

In summary, this tea was an elegant celebration of the delicate floral qualities of the Taiwanese oolong while enriching it with the crisp pear and citrusy bergamot undertones.
