Lupicia Ume no Ka

This Lupicia Ume no Ka is a limited edition tea available only at the Hakata Hankyu shop in Fukuoka and featured an illustration of Sumiyoshi Shrine along with plum blossoms.

The looseleaf is a blend of high-quality jasmine blossoms, green tea scented with plum blossoms and pink peppercorns.

Steeping one 3 g of looseleaf in 200 mL of water at 75°C for 70 seconds, the infusion was a clear light straw colour with a gentle floral aroma. Served hot, the slightly spicy, sweet floral notes of the plum blossoms came through at the head of each sip buoyed by the earthy notes of the pink peppercorn — recalling the Sakurambo Vert — before mellowing with the dewy jasmine and gentle toasted green tea notes in the body. The spicy floral notes of the plum blossoms return for a refreshing finish ahead of a clean aftertaste.

The gentle aromas of the plum and jasmine blossoms, paired with the minimal astringency of the toasted Chinese-style green tea, make for an elegant and relaxing blend.

This Lupicia Ume no Ka contained 50 g. The tea was sourced from Japan, packaged in Japan, and purchased in Hakata, Fukuoka, Japan in 2019.
