Asahi Mintia Yuzu

This Asahi Mintia Yuzu is a second sugarless flavour to the grape flavour we enjoyed earlier. This one uses yuzu from Kōchi Prefecture, which accounts for approximately half of the yuzu produced in Japan. The mints are in the same slim packaging while the design showing a painting of yuzu fruits on washi paper draws on Kōchi’s reputation as one of Japan’s premier paper-making locations for almost a millennium.

The mints are a round shape (7 mm in diameter and 3 mm in height) with an off white colour. They have a faint yuzu aroma that came through more prominently on the palate with the zesty sweetness characteristic of yuzu. The flavour was less punchy than the grape, which uses freeze-dried fruit, but the cooling sensation is more pronounced and leaves us feeling more refreshed after the two minutes it takes to dissolve.

These Asahi Mintia Yuzu contained 7 g or 50 tablets. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Kyōto, Japan in 2018.
